The Steinel RS PRO sensor light system is probably the most advanced Motion Sensor Light in the World. Steinel&39;s emphasis on R &38; D ensures World Class Product Innovations which leverage future requirements of the customer. Any average cradle to grave development cycle lasts about 2 -3 years and Steinel endeavors to launch Pathbreaking Technology at the flagship Light &38; Building Fair in Frankfurt which is held every 2 years Certain areas where these Motion Sensor Lights are installed can be large and unwieldy for e.g. Multi Tier Car Park, Hall Way etc. An occupant may encounter large expanses of unlit areas upon entering.

The Motion Detector within the light fixture has a 8 meter diametric detection range which implies that the occupant cannot be sensed in all corners of the premises. Steinel has thought of a unique way to encounter this anomaly in lighting design by providing for an optional Wireless Bi-Directional Connectivity using a 868.3 MHz (ISM) Radio Frequency Module. This Module integrates 2 or more lighting fixtures in a Master - Slave configuration to suit site conditions. The Wireless Module has 32 Digital Addresses which help in creating complex interconnected switching groups in accordance with the clients requirement. Wireless transmission is fast and extremely reliable as data packets sent by the transmitter are received individually and sequentially by the receiver which ensures that the communication network is idiot proof and fail-safe. This networking can also be achieved by hardwiring the fixtures in a daisy chain in accordance with the requirements. The detection range of the wireless module is 100 meters in an unobstructed environment &38; about 30 meters indoors. Most importantly, the customer can use a combination of both the wired and the wireless module for two way communication.

It can be used both for Indoor &38; Outdoor application not only for the RS Pro Sensor Lights but also in Steinel&39;s famous Impulser Series of Wireless Peripherals e.g. PIR Motion Sensors etc. As a well known phenomenon that switching inductive lighting in excess of 10 -12 times a day with any standard electronic ballasts enhances lamp mortality substantially in a manner that the Lamp manufacturers have taken umbrage and diluted their warranty terms. This of course created a challenge for the Motion Sensor Light Suppliers to come up with a unique solution which does not affect the lamp mortality. Steinel was the first to introduce specialised lamp ignition ballasts within their Motion Sensor Light Fixtures so that the Lamp Life is not adversely affected. The circuitry for these electronic ballasts were designed in house by an expert team of Steinel Engineers with advanced Semi Conductor Devices and Electronic Circuitry in Three Phase Seven Module Energy Meter conformity with the Lamp Manufacturer requirements. As compared to the standard Control Gears, Steinel uses an Infineon Chip in their Chip Controlled Electronic Ballasts which provides the following advantages over these standard control gears. Less Wasted Energy No Starting Flicker No Humming Sound Rapid Start on account of a pre-heat programmed start circuit - (&60; 0.8 seconds as compared with 1.6 to 1.9 Seconds) Extra Long Lamp Life More Light for the same power output Extra Gentle Pre-Heating The algorithm permits the lamp to be operated by a single ballast from the pair in the event one of them fail.

Individual ballasts can also be installed for each lamp incase of a twin lamp fixture. Basically these Infineon Chip Ballasts have been incorporated in the RS Pro Series of Motion Sensor Lights which provide the perfect combination for a long lamp life along with a rapid start up when the Motion Sensor detects human presence in its vicinity which means that the occupant sees illumination instantaneously. Sometimes the inductive lamp operation along with standard electronic ballasts adversely affect the Motion Sensor operation on account of various electrical parameters. The Chip controlled ballasts offered by Steinel reduce any extraneous interference with the sensor operation as a result of which the Motion Sensor life too remains unaffected. These ballasts are certified for the EEI (European Energy Efficiency Index) and are available for the following Wattages. 2 x 18W 2 x 26W 2x 13W 2x 54W 2 x 28W T5 1 x 54W It&39;s no surprise that we call our lights "Intelligent Lights" and "Lights that think for them-selves". Steinel prides itself in servicing client requirements for situations that the clients have not perceived at the time of buying a Motion Sensor Light.
